Christmas is Coming

When I think of Christmas I think of: snow, boots, hot chocolate, fires, soup ect. So living in Florida...I haven't exactly gotten into the Christmas spirit. It is still warm enough here to wear short sleeve shirts and flip flops, people still go out on the lake, and you run the AC in your car. It's been a little hard when I look at my mom's blog and see all her decorations up and just know that they are burning fires in the fireplace (I love to roast marshmallows.)

So with all that you can guess my excitement when my wonderful mom and sisters got in together and sent me, Gio, and Alessandra a Christmas package. In all there are 12 gifts and each of them are supposed to remind me of something from home that has to do with Christmas!! We have opened two so far, and each comes with an awesome poem that of course my mom wrote (she's a really good poet.) It is so much fun and has gotten me into decorating the house more for the holidays, before I really didn't care... because really it's hard for me, being from Utah to get into Christmas when it's still so hot here.

The first day, they sent me all the ornaments that I got throughout the years growing up, and some Christmas garland and lights, and a little Santa Clause. And just last night we got stockings , even a baby one. Stocking really are one of my favorite things to open every year, because I love all the little gifts inside (she even individually wraps packs of gum inside your stocking.) Christmas is the BEST at my house and it's my mother's favorite holiday.

Growing up with so many traditions during this time of year makes me excited to start my own with my little family now, and I have definitely had good training from a Christmas expert. This year we were going to get a Christmas tree but our house isn't that big and we aren't even going to be here for Christmas day, so we settled for a palm. I know, a little bit ghetto but it's fun for this year.
Thanks again Mom, Bec, Mel and Deb!!
