Harry Potter Reprise

As you know (from Gio) we went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. But, to contradict Gio...it only is Harry "sleepy" Potter if you don't know what's going on. Like most of you know, I am a Harry Potter FANATIC! Mostly because it came out when I was in Junior High...I was the age it was attracting so of course I'm going to fall in love. Gio, however was a little older and didn't jump on the Hogwarts Express when it pulled up in station 9 3/4 (gotta know the Harry Potter jargon to understand.) I have gone to every movie at midnight, and book release at midnight, and this time, even though I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant, and married...I wasn't about to give up tradition.

I was a little let down to say the least, because in Utah, you see hundreds of people with Harry Potter paraphernalia, waiting in line for hours and hours with their cloaks and wands. When we went, we showed up a couple minutes late, and still there were empty seats in the crowd. I started calling the movie theatre at 9 to make sure a line wasn't developing without me in it... 11:30 was the last time I called and still nothing.

From my point of view, the movie was beautiful. I say "movie" because the content was lacking the depth that you find in the book. However, everything else was great. It is rated PG-13 probably for good reasons because it is a little dark for those young ones. I know I sound totally nerdy with all of this...but hey...I can't help it!!

So the last and final book #7 comes out this week, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I will be getting that at midnight as well and will let you know how it goes!

Jess, you are going to have so much fun telling all your kids you went to every opening midnight movie/book for the entire Harry Potter collection! I wish I had read all the books before I saw the movies. Love reading your blog!

I haven't jumped on the Harry Potter train yet, but I'm waiting until Mason and I can read them together. I have seen a couple of the movies, but lucky for me I have a rotten memory so it'll be all new to me when I read the books for the first time. I love reading your blog too. Rach
